We MUST not be silenced

I think we can all agree, the world is in turmoil. Wars in Ukraine and Israel, inflation, an assassination attempt on a former president , the list goes on. And to put the icing on the cake, the hatred of Christ and Christs people grows daily, as homosexuality, evolution, and other evils threaten to destroy the integrity of America. The world hates Christs call to repent and believe the gospel, and will do absolutely anything to stop the spread of the Good News, and us believers are witnessing less and less as the need grows greater. The world wants to silence us, and we must not let them. It can be gut wrenching to tune in to the news and see society collapse, but we must remember that this world is in desperate need of Jesus Christ. We need to keep on praying, keep on witnessing, keep reading God’s Word. The world may think that they have won, but for the Christian, it’s business as usual. Bible verse:  “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations,  baptizing them in the ...

The Church and Homosexuality

Image
you just need to take a look around the modern Church today to realize that there is something horribly wrong. We have "Christian" leaders telling the world that the Book of Genesis is just a metaphor, accepting Theistic Evolution instead of the straightforward Bible account, and trying to make Jesus just a wise man. nothing else. And these are all, of course, issues the Church need to manage, but I want to talk today about maybe the issue of the day, the subject of homosexuality. You see churches with pride flags on the flagpoles, and the deception even reaches some of our previously conservative denominations, such as the Baptists and Presbyterians.      now, I'm going to show you a few Bible verses that show what God thinks about the issue.  Leviticus 18:22 ~   You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination. Leviticus 20:13 ~  If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall s...

Christmas Video

Here's a cool Christmas video from the friends at "The Reiser movie Company".  The True Meaning of Christmas (youtube.com)

The True Meaning of Christmas

Image
In the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, us Christians often forget the real meaning behind it all, the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We are celebrating his birth, which radically changed the whole of human history. we read in the Gospel of Luke: Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”     Jesus Christ loves us so much that he came to earth in the form of a man, to live the  perfect  life, and to ultimately die  for every sin you and I have ever committed. and it all started in a manger in Bethlehem. We need to give Jesus the praise He deserves this holiday season.

FREE BOOKS AT CHAPEL LIBRARY!!!

Image
I was attending a conference at a Reformed Baptist Church, and as I was wandering around looking at different parts of the building (which, by the way, was a very nice place), and they had a tract rack which contained a number of small booklets they were offering for free, which contained the writings of puritans, reformers, and early church fathers. I looked up the website, and it turned out that there is a Ministery which offers small books by Christian heroes of the faith for free, up to twenty dollars. I immediately snatched up some Spurgeon, Whitefield, and Luther's "Bondage of the Will", along with others.     I would encourage you to read the works of Christian Heroes of the past. The Puritains especially have some of the richest theological writings in the history of the Church. Too often today modern Christians get all of their theology from extremely liberal, extremely unbiblical Authors like Joel Osteen, Beth Moore, and Joyce Meyer (who are all goin...

The Benaiah Trilogy - Another Great Christian Series by Jared Dodd

Where to begin with this awesome series? It is based on Benaiah from the Bible, In 2 Samuel 23:20 where it says this:     " Benaiah son of Jehoiada, a valiant fighter from Kabzeel, performed great exploits. He struck down Moab's two mightiest warriors. he also went down into a pit on a snowy day and killed a lion."  This and other scenes from second Samuel appear in this book. It also envisions Benaiah's life with his family, his training in warfare by his father, Jehoiada, and his emotions when taking down the lion in the pit.  I don't want to give the plot away, so I'll leave my brief review as is, but I greatly encourage you to read these books. A friend of mine let me borrow it, and I read it on a long drive one day (don't worry- not while driving!), and I couldn't put it down!      The First, "Priest", and the Second, "Warrior", are currently available on Amazon. The third and final installment, "General", is not cur...

The Celestial Railroad

We've been talking about John Bunyan's "The Pilgrim's Progress", and I wanted to share a great new take on it I discovered recently.  It's by Nathaniel Hawthorne, and it is called "The Celestial Railroad''. It is only about 20 pages long, and it is profound in content. it is basically a survey of Christianity in the 1800's, It is a parody of "The Pilgrim's Progress" except everything is modernized. Pilgrims can now take a railroad and make a carefree journey to the Celestial City. He apparently wrote it to attack the Unitarian and Transcendentalist beliefs of his time. It is a fascinating read, and it almost reminds me of "The Scroll Saga" which I have blogged about earlier ( The Scroll Saga ) It shows the ways the Devil can invade the soul and create a false Christianity that will ultimately send you to hell.  Here is a link to read the whole thing for yourself: The Celestial Railroad by Nathaniel Hawthorne (online-lit...

Why I love "The Pilgrim's Progress"

For those poor souls who do not know about this wonderful book, “The Pilgrim's Progress”- an allegory by the widely known English author & preacher, John Bunyan, is the most widely read book besides the Bible for about 200 years. It tells the iconic story of a man named Christian who goes on a quest to reach the Celestial City, an allegorical rendering of heaven in Bunyan’s work. Here is my favorite quote from the book: What God says is best, is best, though all the men in the world are against it. This is extremely true and applicable, and there’s lots more where that came from, though I don't have time to go through all of my favorite quotes today.  The characters in this work are iconic figures in historic Christendom. Let’s take a look at some of them. Christian , the main character and a representation of humankind, Faithful, Christian’s companion for half the book, who is murdered by the men of vanity fair, and last but not least, Christiana, Christian’s wife, who ha...

Abortion: an Examination

whether or not life begins at conception is one of the hottest issues in our society today. Unsaved, hell-bound sinners would have you believe that life begins when the baby is born, and at any time before that, the baby's life can be aborted. Whereas Christians believe that all human life begins at conception, like the Bible says. Let's take a look at some verses in the Bible to see what God says about the sanctity of Life. "For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s  womb." -Psalm 139:13 "... and even  sacrificed  their sons  whom they bore to Me, passing them through  the fire,  to devour  them." - Ezekiel 23:37  There are many more that I could list here, but this should make the point that God deeply cares for each of His people, and He obviously would not support abortion.  Sometimes, I think of it like this, how many more William Tyndales, John Bunyans, Issac Newtons, or Martin Luthers would we have, if their l...

What America was Built on

Image
Today (in the United States), we are celebrating our nation's birthday, July 4th, 1776. On this day, the Declaration of Independence was signed, and our nation was born. Many historians are baffled by America's success. They wonder, what made America so great? And I will say this to you: American democracy succeeded because it was built upon the principals of government found in the Bible, God's Holy Word.     Where did we get the idea for 3 branches of government? The Bible. where did we get the drive to protect natural rights, and promote equality for all peoples? The Bible. Where did the idea of government by consent of the governed come from? You guessed it. The Bible. Without God's Word, America never would have existed.  I could talk about this forever, but I can't. There is a book and website I would recommend: "The Institute on the Constitution" website,     Institute on the Constitution  And the book I would recommend is put ou...

Loving Your Neighbors...Even when it's Pride Month

There is a lot of hate going on in secular, and even Christian circles. A majority of the arguing and debating and calling of names centers around the LGBTQ+ movement, and, unfortunately, many Christians have gotten sucked into the LGBTQ movement's liberal, anti-biblical agenda. Some leaders, such as Steven Anderson, have turned away many possible converts from his church because he would not allow them to join the congregation. Anderson even said, in his own words, "LGBT" stands for "Let God burn them".  THAT IS NOT THE WAY TO WIN SOULS TO CHRIST! I feel embarrassed that many opponents of Christianity believe that extreme radicals like Anderson and James White represent real Christianity, when, in reality, they don't. We need to love our enemies and pray for those that persecute us! It says it right on the pages of Holy Scripture! As far as LGBTQ+ goes, we are REQUIRED as Christians to loathe and despise the idea of Homosexuality, Transgenderism, and other...

It's Pride Month, So...

I keep doing exactly what I have been doing. Absolutely nothing.  Christianity and Homosexuality ARE NOT COMPATABLE.   There are numerous passages in the Bible that flat out forbid any support or practice of homosexuality. Here are a few: -2 Timothy 1:10 -Romans 1:26-27 -1 Corinthians 6:9 -Leviticus 18:22 And the big one, Romans 1: 26-27. Here it is:   " For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against  nature. Likewise also the  men, leaving the natural use of the  woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due."  (NKJV) I wish that "Christians" who support LGBTQ+ propaganda read their Bibles more, because homosexuality can never be read into the Bible. But really, what would you expect from a Godless, sinless culture?  Without God, anything and ...

Is the Big Bang Compatible with the Bible?

Image
The “big bang” is a fairy tale about how the universe came into existence that is more fitting in the pages of Tolkien’s “Silmarillion” than a science textbook. The theory proposes that billions of years ago the universe began in a tiny, immeasurably hot and dense point called a singularity, which supposedly contained all the mass and energy that would become everything we see today, as well as “space” itself.  According to the theory,  the singularity rapidly swelled, dispersing all of the energy and space. While this story of origins is entirely fictional, unfortunately many people, even some Christians, believe that it is an accurate explanation of the beginning of the universe.  The most disturbing aspect of all this, however, is the fact that Christians who accept the big bang are missing its clearly atheistic roots. As solar astrophysicist Dr. Jason Lisle put it, “They (meaning Christians who believe in the big bang) have chosen to reinterpret the plain tea...

The Swoon Theory: A Viable Hypothesis?

Image
Atheists, Gnostics, and the devil alike share one goal–To keep you from experiencing the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ. And this often leads them to invent wild and outrageous theories to get you to doubt what the Bible says is true. One such theory concerning the resurrection is the SWOON THEORY. The swoon theory is the idea that Jesus Christ did not really die at His crucifixion but was merely unconscious when He was laid in the tomb, and there He was revived from unconsciousness.        W hat are the implications if this theory were true? Would it even be possible for a man to survive the cross? And if, indeed, the swoon theory can be proved or disproved, what does it matter to us? I will give you all the answers to these questions and more. Now, first we will start with the medical evidence. And if the medical evidence does not convince you, then probably nothing will. A Roman crucifixion was one of the most brutal ways of execut...

KJV-ONLYISM: The House Built on the Sand, Part 3

Image
Now I am going to lay out a few problems with the textual basis of the King James Version: According to Third Mill.org,      “Some 1611 KJO advocates claim that the basis of the 1611 KJV Bible was Erasmus' Textus Receptus (TR), a phrase coined some twenty-two years after the 1611 KJV was originally translated. However, it is more correct to state that they were based upon about a half dozen MSS which are in the Byzantine text family. Indeed, Erasmus had to fill in certain gaps in his TR by translating the Latin New Testament back into Greek and then back again into English, most notably in the latter portion of the Book of Revelation. Moreover, since the development of TR, thousands of more manuscripts and fragments have been discovered, including the Dead Sea Scrolls in 1947. The Qumran Caves Scrolls contained about 230 manuscripts referred to as "biblical scrolls." Partial and even complete copies of every book in the Hebrew Bible, except Esther, w...
