God is King

"The Lord is king forever and ever..."   -Psalm 10:16   The Lord God is the glorious King of the world and reigns from His throne in heaven. All who reject Him will never know what it is to fall on your knees before the everlasting King and worship Him with awe and reverence, and there is a gaping hole in their life.    The Lord is great and greatly to be praised. And one day, every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that God is the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords, the Great I Am, the worthy Lamb who was slain. Quoting a Christian worship song, "Name another King like this!"

God is Creator

"In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth."                  -Genesis 1:1   God created the entire universe and everything in it with no sin, pain, or death. But, though God had only been good and gracious and generous towards Adam and Eve, they, and therefore all of humankind, decided to shake their wimpy little fists at the Creator of the universe in rebellion, disobey their maker, and continue to sin, day in and day out. Since that day in the Garden of Eden, all is not perfect. But though sin and the consequences of it entered the world through the rebellion of Adam and Eve, we are still God's creation-only thwarted of our original perfection and purpose. Now, since Christ made a way for us to go to heaven despite our sin and shame, we have a new purpose; to live as God's temples until we go to be with our powerful, wise, glorious Creator.

The Scroll Saga: the greatest Christian book series you have probably never heard of

Image
I first got acquainted with the Scroll Saga when it was recommended to me by a friend. I was skeptical at first, but once I got through the first few chapters, I couldn't put it down. After I finished book 1, I was so desperate to read the next book in the series that I purchased it immediately. And... It was even better than the first one! (That's saying something). The third book in the Scroll Saga is geared more towards young ladies, but it is still valuable and entertaining.      This series is SPECTACULAR. It has the perfect mix of drama, humor, and sometimes  startling truth. It really makes you think about the world, the Church, and the Christian life differently. The author, through clever allegorical scenes, displays societal problems that we often miss.      The Castle represents the modern  Church. The Oasis is the true Church that is aligned with God's will. The Scroll is the Bible. Dragons are sin. And warriors who fight them are Christians fighting the

The Bible's Sufficiency In All Things

Image
The Bible is God's word to his people, so we would expect most Christians to take the study of it more seriously, but it seems to me that the abundance of anxiety and mental issues in Christians today is because they are not spending enough time in the word!    The study of the Bible may seem intimidating to some, but there is a foolproof way to do it: pray and ask God to show you what He will to you, and then search the passage, chapter, or book to see what He reveals. You may be surprised what you will find.  Correct interpretation of the Word is also vitally important. Many people see the Bible as a Book full of contradicting verses, statements, or philosophies. While it is true that there are some things we don't fully understand, the presence of these difficulties only adds to it's credibility. if the Bible was made up by humans, it would seem to me that they would take extra care not to include statements that would make it less believable, also contradicting popular
