God, Satan, and the Overuse of Social Media: Part 1

Image
If you just open your eyes, and take a non-biased look at society, you will notice that, as I have said before, people live in the artificial, digital realm more than reality. And I will prove it to you.      First off, I am going to show you a few Bible verses to illustrate my point.  1 Samuel 16:7                                                                                                                                                                               " But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."  2 Corinthians 10:7                                                                                                                                                                     " Do you look at things according to the outward appearance? If anyone is convinced in

God is Friend

"God, who has called you into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ, is faithful. "     -1 Corinthians 1:9  It is incredible that the Creator of the Universe, the King, the Judge, the Father, can be a friend to you! But it's true. You can have fellowship with your Lord, and "What a friend we have in  Jesus!"     Jeremiah 15:15 "You understand, O Lord, remember me and care for me."     Matthew 11:28-30 "Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

God is Father

"...There is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things."     -1 Corinthians 8:6 God created us to be His children, dearly loved and precious. He is Father to us; as any good father should, He 1) Loves us [John 3:16], 2) Cares for us [Psalm 55:22], 3) Helps us in times of  trouble [Hebrews 13:6], 4) Protects us [2 Thessalonians 3:3], and 5) Disciplines us [Hebrews 12:7].     All well-meaning earthly fathers are either consciously or unconsciously, an essential imitation of the Heavenly Father. But earthly fathers make many mistakes, as do any human being. The Heavenly  Father? "Good and upright is the Lord..."     Our Father in Heaven is, once again, holy harmless, undefiled, separate from sinner. He is eternally good. He desires only good for us. He doesn't change.      Who could ask for a better Father?

God is Judge

"...The Lord, the righteous Judge..."     -2 Timothy 4:8                                                                                                                                                                        Someone once said, "If we could see ourselves as God sees us, we couldn't stand ourselves!"     Every nasty little thought we think, every rotten, rude word we say, every immoral, impure, evil thing we do or condone, will come to light before God's eyes. And because God is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, because He alone is perfect, we are utterly wretched and unworthy before Him. Our greatest  earthly treasures and achievements are as filthy rags before the Judge of the world.      In the Bible, it says God HATES sin, and that on the final day, we will be held accountable for every work we have done,  whether good or bad. So how is it possible that God loves and accepts us into His Kingdom, if we only accept Him into o

Technology & Christianity, Part 4

The internet is shaping our WORLDVIEW. Now, as I said earlier, A worldview is what we believe about our universe, what we believe about God, and what we think of the fallen state of humanity. And your worldview is crucial, because it is the difference between Heaven and Hell. Unfortunately, we live in a fallen world, where the Beings God created turn their back on him. The internet is full of this sort of empty, Godless existence. Most blogs, news channels, and social media pages cling to the belief that we were created by chance, we are nothing but animals, and there is nothing beyond what the eye can see. THIS IS WRONG. As I said earlier, we were made on purpose, for a purpose. As R.C. Sproul used to say: “There are no maverick molecules”. In conclusion, the overuse of the internet may be shaping your moral, political, and worldviews, and that shouldn’t happen. You need God to tell you who you are, not TikTok. Now, let me offer a simple solution to the overuse and influence of the

Poland & the Heresy of Catholicism

“Poland is among the neediest nations in the world for the gospel of Jesus Christ.” Thus said Tomasz Krazek, a missionary in Poland supported by Heartcry Missionaries. This is a rather startling statement due to the fact that a recent survey declared Poland one of the most religious countries in Europe and among the most Roman Catholic nations in the world. So where is the dilemma? What makes Poland such a gospel-deprived and spiritually desperate country if it’s said to be one of the most religious countries in Europe? The statistics are misleading, and the truth is, the people of Poland are enslaved to a dead religion, Catholicism.  Out of Poland’s approximate 38 million citizens, 88.8% identify as Christian. At face value, this fact is very encouraging and uplifting. However, 98% of those are Roman Catholic and hold to a work-based, tradition-centered salvation, not the true gospel of Jesus Christ as revealed in Scripture, “Salvation by faith alone in Christ alone.” And among

And I want you to stick with me on this one. Politics are a very touchy subject in our modern culture, especially since the Covid-19 pandemic. And the internet played a very big part of that. Political campaigns online and offline are essentially bandwagons that focus on drawing as many people in as possible and forcing their own agenda on us. And the current political divide is not the way God designed people to interact with each other. A 2020 YouGov poll found that around 24% of Democrats were not friends with anyone who held very different political views from them up from 10% in 2016. We can hold different views than others, but we can still respect them. And that is something that the world needs to learn. And the agenda of the world’s leading politicians is unfo

Technology & Christianity, part 2

NOTE: The text of this post was originally delivered as a lecture at a homeschool convention.  If you look around our world today, you will see that it is in the digital realm more than reality. People are obsessed with their phones so much that they can hardly say hello or drive their car without checking their phones. Tim cook, the founder of Apple, addressed the issue of overuse of smartphones at the 2019 TIME 100 Summit when he said, “If you are looking at a phone more than someone’s eyes, you are doing the wrong thing.” I agree with him. We are a culture so engrossed with our Smartphones and with social media that we are not even taking enough time to into people’s eyes when they are talking to us! We are a culture dominated by the digital world. So, I am going to lay out for you three specific ways the internet is shaping our culture, and perhaps you, and what we can do about it. Now, all this is not to say that technology, internet, and social media are bad things. Quite the co
