God is Judge

 "...The Lord, the righteous Judge..."

    -2 Timothy 4:8

Someone once said, "If we could see ourselves as God sees us, we couldn't stand ourselves!"

Every nasty little thought we think, every rotten, rude word we say, every immoral, impure, evil thing we do or condone, will come to light before God's eyes. And because God is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, because He alone is perfect, we are utterly wretched and unworthy before Him. Our greatest earthly treasures and achievements are as filthy rags before the Judge of the world.

In the Bible, it says God HATES sin, and that on the final day, we will be held accountable for every work we have done, whether good or bad. So how is it possible that God loves and accepts us into His Kingdom, if we only accept Him into our hearts? How can the righteous, sovereign Judge who is perfectly good and just, even stand the thought of vile humankind?

In a word, Jesus. God's precious Son, who is, comprehendingly, one with His Father, is the SACRIFICE FOR OUR SINS. All the sin of the earth was piled onto Jesus our Lord, and He died as a criminal to do away with it and to justify us in the sight of God.
