Now I am going to lay out a few problems with the textual basis of the King James Version: According to Third Mill.org,      “Some 1611 KJO advocates claim that the basis of the 1611 KJV Bible was Erasmus' Textus Receptus (TR), a phrase coined some twenty-two years after the 1611 KJV was originally translated. However, it is more correct to state that they were based upon about a half dozen MSS which are in the Byzantine text family. Indeed, Erasmus had to fill in certain gaps in his TR by translating the Latin New Testament back into Greek and then back again into English, most notably in the latter portion of the Book of Revelation. Moreover, since the development of TR, thousands of more manuscripts and fragments have been discovered, including the Dead Sea Scrolls in 1947.  I know. It sounds like one of those inspirational books to give a "high" of self-worth. But this book is the polar opposite of that. It is pure GOLD. It is a call to be countercultural in a postmodernist, Godless world. And it perfect for those just leaving home for the first time, as well as college students, but it is applicable for everybody.   POINT 2 AGAINST KJV ONLYISM: KJV TRANSLATORS MADE SEVERAL MISTAKES IN THE TRANSLATION PROCESS So we've been talking about the problems that KJV Onlyism holds. And not the least of these, the King James version of the Bible is, contrary to common belief, not altogether perfect. And the truth is, there is no perfect translation. We are all fallible humans, aren't we? When God "Breathed Out" Scripture(2 Timothy 3:16), the original manuscripts, or "Autographs", were perfect, and completely flawless. But tell that to a proponent of the KJVO movement, and they'll say that you don't believe in the inerrancy of Scripture! But this is just not the case. And I will go into more detail about that in another segment. But, back to the point. Biblestudy.org, in an article entitled “King James Bible Errors”, lists a formidable list of mistakes that the translators of the King James Bible made, and that MORE MODERN Bible translations have gotten right.
